An Ode to Cheeseburst

My heart literally stopped beating as I checked the Dominos site frantically again and again, but the options stayed the same - cheeseburst pizza was no longer on the menu.

Let's take a minute to really contemplate the magnitude of the tragedy. I live for cheeseburst pizza. My friends and I invent reasons to order it at least once in a fortnight. Hardcore cheese-a-holics, we plan the order a month in advance, and live in anticipation of the moment when that first molten drop of cheesy heaven touches our tongues.

If you've had the cheeseburst pizza, you know what I'm talking about. For starters, it's fully worth the amount you're paying for it - it's not like a regular medium pizza, where you pay Rs.125 or so, and still feel hungry if it isn't accompanied with breadsticks or Coke. It’s a meal in itself, and fills you up in the best way possible, leaving a warm happy feeling that stretches all the way from your belly to your heart and back again.

Just looking at it is enough to fill you up - oozy cheese that refuses to stay in place, you can practically feel your stomach orgasming from looking at it. It doesn't even matter what the topping is - anything works, from double margherita, to farm fresh. I’ve seen cheese-haters convert to fans based on the cheeseburst, messily munching their way through a piece, eyes shut as if they’re enjoying music.

And now it's gone. Gone. Replaced with what? Doubleburst. Who wants doubleburst. Stupid cream layer that tastes fake processed, adding sweet tinges that take away from the unadulterated awesomeness that the cheeseburst was! Where do I go for my happiness fix now?
