'That's my Last Duchess, painted on the wall.'
'The woods decay, the woods decay and fall.'
'Let us go then, you and I.'
'Lady Lazarus.'
... I could go on all night. There are videos of poems on YouTube, so many beautiful, different versions, it's like hearing a thousand voices reading together, showing what flashed through their mind in that moment. Try reading 'Fireproof' sometime, there's this bit where all the stuff comes together towards the end, eerie but weirdly wonderful.
Or, ooh, Lovely Bones, there are so many incredible bits that sound just like this. Or, and I know this sounds weird, you can look at Rossetti's Blessed Damozel (the picture not the poem) while the Corrs play instrumental in the background. I'm just trying to describe this man, quite a high it is. Resurrection from beyond the dead. Like jumping off a cliff without a harness and seeing the white light.
I've been clicking manically at my screen for about an hour now... if you're the kind that gets a high out of the way words come together, the way sound rises and falls, then woah, this is some experience. Tithonus, Insomniac, Ulysses. I'm truly in awe of humankind.
PS: No, I don't read poems like the shutpisht 'Noises in my Head' one below, duhhhh. I sometimes think I'm bipolar, what with my extreme intellect and the extreme lack thereof at other times. Ooh, bipolar, read Sybil, or worse, watch it. Man, I didn't sleep alone for, like, a week, and ran over to Harsha's place whenever my parents left me alone at home.
PPS: Oh my GOD, The Lovely Bones is a MOVIE now???? I havvvvvve to watch!!!!
